John Bayer : Founder & Principal
After completing a business degree in Sheffield, John undertook the legal conversion course and completed his Law Society Finals Exam at the College of Law in York in 1993. He completed his training at Mishcon de Reya, a leading central London firm, working in their litigation department. In 1997, he joined London firm, Myers, Fletcher and Gordon, becoming the property and private client partner in 2003. He left in 2010 to found Bayer Solicitors.
John's practice encompasses three main areas- property, private client (wills and probate) and employment work. He represents private individuals and companies. He has experience of pursuing cases through most types of court and tribunals (most notably employment tribunals and county courts) and a wide knowledge of transactional work. He is able to utilise his wide experience of non-contentious and contentious matters to maximum effect when seeking solutions to clients' needs and requirements. John has a loyal and varied client base, many of whom he has represented for many years.
Outside of the law, John has had non-legal work experience working for a large soft drinks company. He has travelled widely and enjoys the outdoors, especially horse riding. Having lived near Maidenhead for a number of years in 2021 he moved to Burghfield Common in West Berkshire.
Michelle Earle : Practice Secretary
Michelle has worked exclusively in legal practices since leaving college and has worked with John for over 20 years. She has particular experience with property and probate matters and has attended paralegal courses in both those areas. Michelle is well known to clients of the firm and will provide an update on your transaction, if John is not available. Michelle lives in West Reading.
